Effect of Chilling and Growth Regulators in Seedling Stage on Flowering of Lilium formolongi

Abstract
To establish off-season production system, the effects of chilling and growth regulators on plant growth and yield of cut flowers were evaluated with Lilium formolongi ¢¥Neosan No. 2¢¥. Among growth regulators, 500 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý and 500 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý combined with 500 §·¡¤L^(-1) BA were the most suitable for seedling growth. The length of flower stems were increased by 500 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý treatment or 500 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý combined with chilling, while the number of flowers per plant decreased by chilling regardless of planting times. Rates of non-flowering and blind were increased by late planting times and flower marketability was decreased. But these phenomena could be overcome by GA©ý and chilling treatment. The treatment of 500 §·¡¤L^(-1) GA©ý and chilling greatly reduced non-flowering rate and improved the yields of marketable flowers.
